KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — One student was injured and another is facing an assault charge after a reported stabbing at Halls High School.

Knox County deputies responded to the school Monday morning. Investigators found that a 16-year-old boy stabbed a 15-year-old boy during barbering class.

The victim was transported to East Tennessee Children's Hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. The 16-year-old has been charged with aggravated assault.

A sheriff's office spokesperson said in a release that the sharp object was not a knife.
