HARVEY, La. —

Multiple people from Honduras have been detained by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement at a shipyard in Harvey.

ICE said the operation stemmed from an investigation by HSI New Orleans in March after an employee was arrested for immigration violations.

During the investigation, HSI agents served a notice of inspection and immigration subpoena on the owners of Barrois Welding Service.

Barrios failed to provide the required employee documentation, including I-9s, identification documents, or a current employee listing.

According to ICE, many of those arrested had criminal histories, including prior illegal entry, DUI, discharge of a firearm
