An Aspen woman pleaded guilty Monday to a felony theft charge in an employee embezzlement case as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, who said they will not recommend immediate jail time at sentencing.

Andrea Tinsley, 38, is set for sentencing Jan. 5 for her guilty plea to a class 5 felony offense of theft, $5,000 to $20,000. The charge is new, and in return, the prosecution agreed to drop the more severe class 3 felony count of theft, $100,000 to $1 million.

Tinsley entered her plea in Pitkin County District Court.
