JAMMU, Nov 4: Security forces recovered a drone from an open field in Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Tuesday, triggering a security investigation in the border region.
Officials said the drone was found in Sakhi Maidan village, located about six kilometres from the Line of Control (LoC). A team from the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the local police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the presence of a drone-like object.
The device was subsequently seized by the SOG, and a detailed probe has been launched to trace its origin and purpose, officials added.
The recovery comes amid heightened surveillance along the LoC, where instances of suspected cross-border drone activity have been reported in the past. (Agencies)
