CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – It’s Election Day in Georgia, and shortly, the polls will be open Tuesday morning for voters to make their voices heard.

From city halls to the state’s public service commission, Georgians are casting ballots in races that will shape their communities for years to come. Election officials say early turnout already has been strong, and they’re expecting a steady stream of voters throughout the day.

Officials are gearing up for what they hope will be a busy Election Day. More than 16,000 voters have already cast their ballots early, which is a strong sign of growing local interest. Election supervisors tell WSAV they anticipate a good turnout because when hometown names are on the ballot, people show up.
