ARNOLD, Mo. (First Alert 4) - After barricading inside an apartment for hours Tuesday morning, the suspect in a SWAT standoff in Arnold has been taken into custody.

According to the Arnold Police Department, officers saw a man with active felony warrants exit a stolen vehicle Monday night. He then went inside an apartment in the 100 block of Crosswind Drive.

Police say he is also a suspect in numerous vehicle break-ins that were reported in the area.

At 1:30 a.m., SWAT officers contacted the suspect, who responded by barricading himself inside the apartment.

As of 6:50 a.m., the police department says the suspect was taken into custody.

The scene is now secure.
