A 70-year-old was held without bail Monday for allegedly killing a man inside a Brockton apartment by stabbing him 22 times, officials said.
Tyrone Henderson, of Brockton, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Brockton District Court to a murder charge in connection with the Halloween night slaying of Mark Courtney, 68, according to court records.
Henderson was ordered held without bail, records show. His lawyer declined to comment.
In a court filing, prosecutors said that Henderson allegedly stabbed Courtney after accusing him of stealing his wallet.
“Courtney suffered 22 stab wounds,” prosecutors said.
Witnesses later reported seeing Henderson in the hallway, where he allegedly said that he’d “just killed his friend,” prosecutors said.
