A Canton police sergeant who responded to the crime scene in the Karen Read case has been placed on paid administrative leave as part of an internal review of misconduct allegations, officials said Monday.
In a statement, the town and Interim Police Chief Joseph Perkins identified the suspended officer as Sergeant Sean Goode.
Town officials said they were alerted on Oct. 24 to alleged “misconduct concerning a member of the Town’s Police Department, which was discovered during an investigation into a former member of a different law enforcement agency.”
Officials said Goode “was immediately placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of that internal affairs investigation.”
Town officials did not provide details on the separate investigation.
