Residents and a number of roads have been closed in Boston after a device was found in the town centre. Shortly after 11.20am on Tuesday, November 4, the Lincolnshire Police Control Room received a report of a suspicious item near Police Station.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit were contacted and are assessing the device. Residents have been moved out of the area and the Municipal Building on West Street has been identified as a rest centre for residents.

A number of roads have also been closed, including Lincoln Lane, Rosegarth Street, Lawrence Lane, Irby Place and St Botolph's Bridge. The bus station on Rosegarth Street has also been affected.

Those travelling in the area are being told to allow additional time for their journeys. Follow our live blog below for updates.
