A father, a friend and a community builder is how a Kitchener bus driver, who lost his life while driving students to a field trip, will be remembered.
Mark Naylor, 52, died while driving grade 9 students from Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School (KCI) to an overnight geography trip at Point Pelee National Park on Nov. 2 .
OPP said the bus, carrying 42 students, went off the road and into a ditch around 9:40 a.m. on Highway 401 near London.
“The passengers of the school bus included high school age students. Unfortunately, I have terrible news to share, that the 52-year-old driver of that school bus was pronounced deceased at the scene,” a spokesperson for OPP West Region said in an update on Sunday afternoon on social media.
