BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) - An Asheville man will spend at least seven years in prison for using fake prescriptions to get hundreds of pills.

According to the Buncombe County District Attorney's Office, Antonne Dewillard Smith, Jr., 23, pleaded guilty to felony charges related to drug trafficking and obtaining controlled substances through fraud or forgery.

As a result of his plea, Smith was sentenced to 90 - 120 months in North Carolina prisons and a $100,000 fine. Per state law, he will be required to serve at least seven and a half years of his sentence before he is eligible for release.
