Howie Roseman and the Eagles made a big swing ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, acquiring talented Dolphins edge rusher Jaelan Phillips on Monday.
The Eagles sent a 2026 third-round pick to Miami in exchange for Phillips. But fortunately for Roseman, they’re not sending too much money Phillips’ way — at least not yet.
The Eagles and Dolphins negotiated a Philly-friendly split of Phillips’ remaining salary. Phillips, who is playing out the fifth-year option on his rookie contract, was due nearly $7 million.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates , the Dolphins converted $5.1 million of that salary into a signing bonus, leaving the Eagles on the hook for $1.5 million for the rest of the season.
