The abundance of food, wine and song served up this weekend speaks to the way Savannahians build community. Contributor Allison Stice wrote about the inaugural Savannah Porchfest , Nov. 8, for this week’s DO Savannah, which will feature 30 local, regional and national bands playing from back yards and porches throughout the Baldwin Park neighborhood. And the long-awaited Hostess City Food and Wine Festival , Nov. 7-8, has finally arrived, bringing more than 45 of the city’s chefs, restaurants and beverage partners to Eastern Wharf for generous samples and pours. Plus, those attending will be doing some good, helping to support Gilliard & Co. , a Savannah-based nonprofit organization supporting youth who are aging out of the foster care system.
