PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Pride Northwest is addressing what the organization is calling "escalating threats" to the LGBTQ+ community's most vulnerable members.

The non-profit is launching its annual 'Community Resilience Drive,' a program that hopes to serve queer unhoused and housing-insecure people across the area with critical supplies such as food, clothing and more.

Pride Northwest says the campaign is even more vital this year during times of political turmoil across America.

Executive director Debra Porta and director of programming Ian Morton joined us on AM Extra to break down their efforts to support the LGBTQ+ community now and all year-round.
