Westport has a new town administrator.
Chris Vitale, who most recently served as assistant town administrator in Dartmouth, was unanimously appointed to the $175,000 position Monday evening by members of the select board. Pending successful contract negotiations, he is expected to start immediately.
“The work starts even before day one,” he told board members at an open interview Monday. “This is an opportunity that really excites me.”
Vitale was raised in New Hampshire but found the region in 2011, when he began studying for a degree in marketing at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. After his graduation in 2015, he moved to Dallas, Texas, where he earned a master’s degree in strategic communications, and later came back to the region and in 2017 found a job as
