NEW YORK (PIX11) – Voters who are rushing out of the house to one of the polling sites in New York City – if you forgot your wallet, you shouldn’t worry about it.

That’s because registered voters don’t have to show ID when filing out their ballots, according to NYC Votes. You would only need to identify yourself if you didn’t while filing out your voter registration.

If you’re unable to prove your identity in time to vote, you can still fill out an affidavit ballot, but you cannot use the polling site scanner.

Anyone who isn’t registered to vote but wants to on Election Day can visit their local polling site. You won’t be able to vote in this race, but you can in the next one.
