NEW YORK (PIX11) — Families aren't only asking what's for dinner? Some don't know where the food is coming from or how to pay for it.
President Donald Trump posted on social media on Tuesday that he will withhold SNAP benefits until the government is reopened.
SNAP was expected to be partially funded this month amid the ongoing government shutdown, the Trump administration had announced on Monday.
Judy Brim of the Bronx traveled to New York Common Pantry in East Harlem on East 109th Street to pick up some fresh food and vegetables.
"I count this as a blessing. People really need it, especially at this time when everything‘s being cut. I plan on sharing with family,' she said.
The federal government could use $4.65 billion in contingency funds to pay for the program that costs around $
