RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) -- Classes at RISE Academy in Rantoul are happening normally on Tuesday, but only after Rantoul Police said a threatening social media post was investigated and resolved the previous day.
In a news release, Deputy Chief Christina Reifsteck said the Rantoul Police Department and Rantoul City Schools were alerted at 3:48 p.m. to the post, which contained a threat directed toward RISE Academy. Within minutes of the post being published, Reifsteck added, it was removed from the social media platform.
Working with the FBI, Rantoul Police investigators tracked the origin of the post and identified the person responsible as a juvenile from Rantoul. That juvenile was located at their home, and Reifsteck said they were cooperative with the investigation, which included admitt
