BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern Secret Witness is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash near Lake Isabella on Sept. 9.

According to officials, the crash was reported around 8:33 p.m. in the area of Lake Isabella Boulevard and Young Avenue when a man was found on the ground.

The man was later identified as Ronald Stewart Nevius Jr., 65, of Lake Isabella.

According to investigators, a dark blue SUV was going west on Young Avenue and approaching the intersection of Lake Isabella Boulevard at an unknown speed.

During that time, Nevius was walking south across Young Avenue, east of Lake Isabella Boulevard, directly in the SUV’s path.
