The Ashley National Forest has announced that there will be prescribed burning this week on the Flaming Gorge Ranger District. “Fire personnel anticipate burning in the Red Canyon Lodge area, North of Hwy 44,” shares the announcement. “The burn is planned for Thursday, November 6th through Friday, November 7th and contingent upon favorable weather conditions. Watch for warning signs along roads near all prescribed fire areas before and during burns. Visitors and residents may see smoke during the prescribed burns.” Travelers are asked to slow down and turn on headlights when you encounter smoke on the road. No road closures are anticipated.
