Waffle House has purchased a lot in Prairieville, near the intersection of Airline Highway and La. Highway 42.
The popular chain, known for its 24-hour service, hash browns, and waffles, bought a 0.9-acre tract at 17114 Commerce Centre Drive for $471,372 in a deal that was filed last month. The sale agreement forbids the owners of the nearby Commerce Centre Shopping Center from leasing space to 15 restaurant chains known for their breakfasts, including IHOP, Cracker Barrel, Denny’s and Bojangles.
Waffle House has 19 locations in metro Baton Rouge, according to the company website, but none in Prairieville. The chain has more than 1,900 locations in the U.S.
