CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio -- City Council on Monday (Nov. 3) introduced an alternative zoning proposal to spur redevelopment of the obsolete and largely vacant Severance Town Center.
“These measures transform Severance from a suburban shopping complex into a walkable district that supports daily life, commerce and community events,” master developer Ryan Porter, with MPACT Collective, said in an accompanying memo to council.
Council referred all legislation for the proposed Severance Overlay Zone (SOZ) to the city Planning Commission, which will take the request up again at its Nov. 12 meeting .
That meeting will include an opportunity for public comment.
