NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect in a bank robbery on Tuesday.
Police said they were called to the Old Point National Bank at 11751 Jefferson Avenue on Tuesday around 2:36 p.m.
Their investigation revealed that a man had entered the bank, displayed a note that implied he had a weapon, and demanded money.
He then fled on foot toward Thimble Shoals Boulevard with what police said was an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police described the suspect as a man wearing an orange hat, a face mask, a plaid shirt with a gray hoodie underneath, and whitewashed jeans.
No one was injured in the incident, police said.
