CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) -- Anglers in the Mountain State can get their lines ready, as the reinstatement of the reciprocal fishing agreement with Kentucky was announced by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.

According to a press release, as long as Kentucky fishing regulations are followed, the reciprocal fishing agreement with Kentucky will let anglers from West Virginia "use their resident fishing license to fish from the Kentucky side of the Big Sandy and Tug Fork rivers."

The press release stated that only the main stem of the Big Sandy and Tug Fork rivers are covered by the agreement, and anglers will need to buy a Kentucky fishing license if they use an embayment or tributary on the Kentucky side.
