A day after announcing that forward Cole Smith will miss three to six weeks with an upper body injury, the Predators on Tuesday recalled forward Zach L’Heureux from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League.

L’Heureux could be in the lineup Tuesday night when the Predators play at Minnesota, which would prove interesting timing.

In December of the 2024-25 season, L’Heureux was given a match penalty for slew-footing Wild forward Jared Spurgeon, an incident that led the NHL to suspend L’Heureux for three games and fine him $13,489.59.

When the teams met again in January, L’Heureux and Minnesota’s Yakov Trenin, a former Predators forward, dropped the gloves and fought.
