ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - On Tuesday, 500 hot meals and 900 cans of formula were given out to families.
“During this difficult time, I’m proud of the work our Department of Public Health is doing to coordinate with community partners to make sure no one goes hungry,” said County Executive Sam Page. “Our job isn’t just about treating illnesses. It’s also about caring for people.”
There are 47,000 families that receive SNAP benefits in St. Louis County, making it the largest SNAP recipient county in the state.
County Executive Sam Page said they can’t meet the entire need, but St. Louis County is looking to step up and fill the gap as much as it can.
