WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A former St. Louis news anchor is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 80-year-old mother.
Angelynn Mock, 47, is accused of stabbing Anita Avers on Oct. 31.
According to the Wichita Police Department, officers were called to the 1500 block of East Crowley for a cutting. They arrived to find Avers in her bed with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to the hospital, where she died.
Police identified Mock as the suspect and said she was in the street with cuts on her hands.
Mock is being held in the Sedgwick County Jail on a $1 million bond. She is scheduled to appear back in court on Nov. 14 for a preliminary hearing.
Mock was a morning anchor at Fox 2 News in St. Louis from 2011 to 2015.
