NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – With just a few hours left until polls close, New York City and New Jersey are anxiously awaiting the results of two hotly contested races.
In New York, results will likely start rolling in shortly after polls close at 9 p.m. As the votes are tabulated, the city’s Board of Elections will release updates throughout the night.
In the past, New York’s elections have moved quickly. In New York City’s June primary election, 90% of the vote had been counted by 10:30 p.m. This was about the time former Gov. Andrew Cuomo conceded the race.
In 2024, the presidential election was called by 9:06 p.m. for Kamala Harris in New York, with 90% of New York City’s votes counted by 12:25 a.m., according to the Associated Press.
