HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Temperatures will soar today thanks to plenty of sunshine and a shift in winds. Winds will mostly be out of the southwest and 5 to 15 mph. Those over western and northwestern portions of our area will see more of a westerly wind. Those area will also see the warmest temperatures and lowest relative humidity. This will increase the wildfire for much of the Sandhills, the Eastern Panhandle, and parts of Southwest Nebraska. High temperatures today will range from the upper 60s in Northeast Kansas and Northeast Nebraska to the upper 70s and lower 80s over Western Nebraska. Record highs could be threatened in a few locations. Overnight, a cold front will push southward, shifting winds more northerly. Skies will remain mostly clear.
