HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Hartford Fire Department released the name of the person who died in a fire on Elliott Street that displaced nine other people on Monday, Oct. 27.

According to the authorities, 58-year-old Aida Shaikh died as a result of last week's fire.

Fire crews said they were dispatched around 10:35 p.m. for the house fire, where they found heavy fire conditions on the first floor that extended to the second floor and roof area.

The department said none of the nine people displaced were children.

Hartford Fire Department’s Special Services Unit and the American Red Cross are assisting the displaced residents.
