OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A city employee who was one of five people arrested last week in a sex trafficking investigation is headed to trial.
Amy Hicks , a City of Omaha accountant and alleged lynchpin in the case, waived her December preliminary hearing Tuesday, meaning her case goes straight to district court now for trial.
She remains in custody at the Douglas County jail on a $10 million bond. The 39-year-old is facing several charges including tax evasion, criminal conspiracy, keeping a place of prostitution, pandering, etc.
The other four defendants have preliminary hearings scheduled for Dec. 10, at which time the state will have to show it has enough evidence for probable cause to move the felony case to trial.
Hicks is facing six felony charges: possession of child porn, pander
