1Orange County store sells $50K Powerball ticket to Monroe customer
MONROE, NY – A Powerball player in Orange County became $50,000 richer after buying a third-prize ticket at a Sunoco station in Monroe, according to an announcement from the New York Lottery.
The ticket was sold at Jai Pavan Putra Inc./Sunoco, located at 1197 Route 208, and matched four of the five white balls plus the red Powerball in Saturday’s drawing. The player has not yet been publicly identified.
Powerball drawings are held three times a week, with five numbers drawn from a pool of 69, and the red Powerball drawn from a separate pool of 26.
The win is one of two third-place tickets sold across New York for the Nov 3 drawing. Each is worth $50,000 before taxes.
