On Tuesday, while New Yorkers were consumed with the biggest mayoral election in years, the 50-year-old soccer player was knighted by King Charles III at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle for his services in sport and charity. It’s his “proudest moment,” according to CNN , though I’m not sure how anything could top the launch of his very own beekeeping gummies .
“I’ve been very obviously lucky in my career to have won what I’ve won and done what I’ve done, but to receive an honor like this, of a knight, is beyond anything that I ever thought that I would receive,” Beckham told the U.K.’s PA Media news agency after the ceremony, per CNN .
