BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Charges against a 19-year-old man in connection with the deaths of two recent Corner High School graduates are moving forward.
Kamden Willis is accused of recklessly driving his car, leading to a crash. A Jefferson County judge ruled Tuesday that two charges of reckless murder will move forward against Willis.
Police say Willis had seven passengers — three over capacity — in his pickup truck in July when he crashed on a back road in rural Jefferson County around 2 a.m.
Two men, Treylen Floyd and Tristan Cox, were killed in the crash. Deputies said all eight had been drinking at a bonfire earlier in the night. Investigators said Willis was driving more than 90 mph when he swerved off the road, hit a utility pole and rolled down an embankment.
