STORRS, Conn. — The UConn football team’s dynamic offense continues to earn recognition for its explosive play this season.

Following the Huskies’ 38-19 home win over UAB last Saturday, red shirt senior wide receiver Skyler Bell was named this week’s winner of the New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet Award.

The award is presented by the Jack Grinold/Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation and is given each week to a student-athlete from an FBS, FCS, Division II or Division III football team in New England.
