Three people are dead and at least 11 people are injured after a plane crashed after taking off from the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) on Tuesday evening, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said during a press conference Tuesday night.
Beshear said he expected the number of fatalities and injuries to rise due to the severity of the "catastrophic crash."
Two businesses were struck by the aircraft, Kentucky Petroleum Recycling and Grade A Auto Parts, Beshear said, adding that two employees are missing from the auto parts business.
Three crewmembers were on board the plane at the time of the crash, UPS said in a statement Tuesday night.
