PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- Paducah Police arrested a convicted felon Tuesday after they said they found a stolen handgun during a traffic collision investigation.
Officers responded to the incident in the 3100 block of James Sanders Boulevard. Police said they noticed Damon Bean was walking away from a lunch box he placed near a dumpster.
Inside the lunch box, officers reported finding a handgun, a small amount of marijuana, and cash. Police said Bean admitted the lunch box and its contents were his.
Authorities also said the firearm was stolen from Missouri. Bean, 37 from St. Louis, was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Jail.
Bean faces charges of receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of marijuana.
