A 12-year-old girl was detained while her parents were arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district after the minor uploaded a video on social media allegedly containing derogatory remarks against Hindu deities, police said.

The girl made the video in an attempt to increase her followers on the social media platform, the police said.

The officials investigating the matter said they got the video, which was uploaded last week, deleted and the girl’s social media account was also deactivated.
