Voters looked to be giving a resounding yes to an emergency operating levy for Perrysburg schools as ballots were being counted Tuesday night.
With 41 percent of precincts reporting, the levy’s approval had 69 percent of the vote, while votes against the levy were at 31 percent.
If passed, the new tax will raise $11 million annually and cost the owner of a $200,000 home $546 a year.
Scores of people gathered for an election night watch party at Sidelines Sports Eatery in Perrysburg as they anticipated the results.
In September, Perrysburg schools leaders laid out a list of $6 million in cuts, including all athletics and high school busing, that would be implemented if the five-year, 7.8-mill operating levy request fails.
