ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Incumbent Mayor Malik D. Evans won re-election Tuesday, securing a second term after defeating Conservative Party candidate Louis Sabo.
Voters in Rochester went to the polls Tuesday for the 2025 mayoral and city council elections.
Evans had earlier overcome Democratic challenger Mary Lupien in the party primary. Incumbent Malik D. Evans ran for a second term, emphasizing collaboration across city agencies, neighborhood investment, and public safety. He faced Conservative Party candidate Louis Sabo, who campaigned on public safety, business support, and family affordability.
Rochester’s five at‑large city council seats were also on the ballot. Incumbents Stanley Martin, Miguel A. Meléndez Jr. and Mitch Gruber ran for re‑election, while challengers LaShunda Leslie
