BARREN COUNTY, KY – Kentucky residents receiving SNAP benefits will continue to see payments despite the ongoing federal government shutdown.
According to the nonprofit Bridge Kentucky, a federal judge has ordered the continuation of food assistance after the state filed a lawsuit against the federal government. The ruling ensures that November SNAP benefits will still be funded, though only at 50 percent of the normal amount.
State officials say some payments could appear as early as Wednesday, but others may take several extra days to process.
