WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — In June, Washington County announced plans to build the largest subsidized veteran housing project in the nation, Patriot Park.

It will feature nine buildings, which consist of 60 total apartments, and will be priced based on veterans' annual income. • 24 one-bedroom units • 24 two-bedroom units • 12 three-bedroom units

The timeline for completion was set for December, with the hope that veterans would be able to move in by the end of 2025. Washington County Judge Patrick Deakins said he still believes that it is possible.
