The Mesa County Valley School District D51 Board of Education could have a whole new look after Tuesday night’s election.
Two of the three candidates running against incumbents in the D51 school board election have large leads.
According to the Mesa County election site, 46,513 ballots were cast at 9 p.m.
Unofficially, Vicki Woods and Kaci Cole are close to having enough votes to secure victory.
Woods has a lead over the incumbent Angela Lema of more than 6,300.
Cole’s lead over incumbent Will Jones in the District D race is around 4,000.
Current School Board President Andrea Haitz has a narrow lead in the District C race over challenger Mike Rathbone of around 1,400 votes.
The winners will join current board members Barbara Evanson and Jose Luis Chavez.
