COLUMBIA — No one can tell if this will be the norm. It’s one game.

But the result was certainly pleasing. Nobody needed a reminder of just how precious wins were last year.

South Carolina roared past N.C. A&T 91-72 on Nov. 4 in the season opener for each team, beginning coach Lamont Paris’ fourth season with a victory. The blueprint fit what Paris discussed in the preseason and what was shown in last week’s exhibition loss to N.C. State .

There will be many, many 3-pointers launched. There will be many, many occasions where the Gamecocks look weak in the paint on each end of the floor.

But they have the capability to shoot past that, and it can only get better. Especially with 1-12 options to do so.
