HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Daniel N. Lopez has been reelected as Harlingen city commissioner for District 2, defeating his opponent Frank Puente Jr., according to unofficial election results.
Lopez led with 476 votes to Puente's 164, according to unofficial Cameron County election results.
Since being elected in 2022, Lopez expressed satisfaction with the progress made in District 2 over the past few years, particularly in areas such as water, sewer, drainage, and roads.
Lopez said having a dedicated drainage crew has been vital.
Looking ahead to his next term, Lopez plans to address code enforcement to ensure existing rules are followed and to increase street crews to manage drainage issues more effectively.
