LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Ingham County voters approved the Mason Public Schools bond proposal in Tuesday's election.

58% of voters said yes to the proposal, while 42% said no.

According to the school district, the bond will generate around $66 million for the school district without raising the current debt millage rate of 5.68 mils.

Of that, around 51% is planned to go toward "extensive" renovations of Mason Middle School, including upgrading HVAC and plumbing, improving public access, and renovating student spaces.

33% of the funding is planned for Mason High School renovations, also including updates to HVAC systems and student spaces and renovating the school's auditorium.

The final 16% of the bond funds are said to go toward a new transportation facility for the school district,
