SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio – Shaker Heights Historical Museum’s modest property tax levy is off to a substantial lead among early results in Tuesday’s general election.

With six out of 25 precincts reporting, more than 62% voted in favor of Issue 31, with 37.9% against, according to unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

The 0.3-mill, five-year levy would cost homeowners about $11 per $100,000 of appraised property value, or roughly $34 to $36 annually for the average household. If approved, it is expected to generate $352,300 per year to support museum operations, programming, and facility upgrades.
