ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) -- The UAlbany women's basketball team entered the season with an almost entirely new roster, bringing in eight new players while losing the team's top five scorers from last year. With that many new pieces, it would be fair to expect some growing pains. That was far from the case for the Great Danes in the team's season opener on Tuesday night.

UAlbany rolled past Marist 74-46 at the Broadview Center to open the season. Delanie Hill, the lone starter back for UAlbany, led the way with 20 points. Freshman forward Amaya Stewart was a standout, scoring 17 points to go with five boards and four blocks.

The Great Danes travel to Syracuse to take on the Orange on Friday at 7:00 PM.
