MOORHEAD — Gage Florence would often play catch for hours in the living room of his rural home near Surrey, North Dakota, while growing up.

The Minnesota State Moorhead senior wide receiver remembers one time breaking a lamp that sat on an end table. Florence estimates he was around pre-school age, and was worried about the potential consequences. His mother Kristin Florence-Bodine wasn't home.

"I remember sitting there thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s the end of the world,’” Gage said with a laugh. “I didn’t want to upset my mom in any way so when I was little and things like that happened, I would always assume the worst, even though I knew she was just going to give me a stern talking to, and we would move on.”
