CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Illinois Governor JB Pritzker is scheduled to make a stop in Carbondale on Wednesday, November 5.

The governor will be highlighting infrastructure investments in southern Illinois made through the Rebuild Illinois initiative, the largest infrastructure improvement plan in the history of the state.

Gov. Pritzker will be giving an update at 3 p.m. at the Carbondale Civic Center.

Last month, city leaders learned that Carbondale was awarded $1,989,063 in Rebuild Illinois grants to repave three traffic corridors.

The grant will pay for 100 percent of the cost to repave portions of three streets:

W. College Street from S. Forest Avenue to S. University Avenue

W. Cherry Street from S. Oakland Avenue to S. Illinois Avenue

Poplar Street from W. Mill Street to W. O
